According to ICIS,Taiwanese producer Nan Ya Plastics shut three of its four production lines in Mailiao early this week as scheduled, with plans to restart them next Monday. The three lines that have a total BPA capacity of 290,000 tonnes/year had to be shut due to feedstock shortage caused by turnaround at the phenol and acetone plant of Formosa Chemicals & Fibres Corp's (FCFC) in early September. Nan Ya would take advantage of the shutdown to rectify intermittent problems at the BPA plants’ power supply units but this would not cause delays in bringing the three lines back on stream next week. The company’s fourth BPA line in Mailiao has a capacity of 120,000 tonnes/year and is currently running at 100%.
