Venezuela’s sole polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plant in El Tablazo was idled on 15 August for preventive maintenance. The procedure is scheduled to take at least 20 days. The plant has a nameplate capacity of 130,000 tonnes/year, although sources said it was producing about 120,000 tonnes/year.
