South Korea’s Lotte Daesan Petrochemical would restart its 400,000 tonne/year monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant at Daesan by early May, after a month-long maintenance shutdown. “The plant should complete the turnaround and restart at the early days of May,” said the source. The unit was brought offline in early April. The company operates another 240,000 tonne/year MEG unit at the same site. This line is running normally, said the source. Lotte has another three MEG units at Yeosu with a total nameplate capacity of 450,000 tonnes/year. These lines are operated by sister company Honam Petrochemical.
