Shell's new Singapore MEG plant to start up end-2009

Anglo Dutch MEG major, Shell Chemicals will begin operating its new 750,000 tonne/year MEG plant in Singapore at the end of this year. Shell currently operates a 125,000 tonne/year MEG plant at Ayer Merbau, Singapore, through its joint venture, Ethylene Glycols Singapore. Shell’s investment in Singapore includes a 800,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Pulau Bukom which is slated to start up by early 2010.
