Asian melamine producers have rolled over $1,200-1,350/tonne (€852-959/tonne) for contracts in the second quarter given a stable market, market sources said on Monday. “The global melamine market has stabilised and may have bottomed out,” said a major Asian seller. Major producers have initially offered $1,250-1,350/tonne CFR (cost and freight) Asia given constant cost pressures, eroding their margins. But end-users remained cautious as demand from downstream wood plying, adhesive and table ware sectors was too weak to support higher prices.
