European chlorine production dropped 23.3% in April compared to the same period last year, industry body Euro Chlor said on Tuesday. Output was 670,591 tonnes, 9.2% lower than March, which was itself marginally lower than February’s level. Capacity utilisation at European chlorine plants was estimated at 63.8% in April, down from 84.9% reported in the same month last year and the estimated 68.0% in March 2009.
