S Korea’s Taekwang shuts PTA due to technical glitch

South Korean petrochemical producer Taekwang Industrial shut its 1m tonne/year PTA line at Ulsan on 4 December due to technical problems.When it will restart is still unknown. Market rumours, which said the plant was operating at low rates, were dismissed by the official. The firm’s contract volumes for December were likely to be reduced.
