Shanghai Secco Petrochemical plans to restart its 260,000 tonnes/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Shanghai, China next week after it was shut down on 12 March due to technical reasons. The plant was shut down unexpectedly on Thursday due to a snag at its upstream 900,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker on 8 March. "The restart date is expected to be next weekend at the earliest, but it all depends on the cracker maintenance progress." The output loss of ACN from Secco would be around 10,000 tonnes during the two-week shutdown.
