Iran’s NPC shuts methanol plant for maintenance

Iran's state-owned National Petrochemical Co (NPC) shut its Assaluyeh-based 1.65m tonne/year methanol plant (Zagros I) in late May for a planned 45-day maintenance, a company source said on Monday. The firm's new methanol plant with the same capacity - Zagros II, also in Assaluyeh, was tentatively scheduled to start up around the end of June or early July, the source said. "We are not sure of our actual start up date as it is still undecided," the source added.
