China’s Beida Huanghao has restarted its 100,000 tonne/year methanol unit in Heilongjiang province, northeast China, in August after shutting it down in January due to poor economics. The company was still in the early stages of testing the finished material after the restart, a company source said, adding it was too early to say when commercial volume would be available for sale.
