China’s Henan Zhongyuan Dahua will keep its 500,000 tonne/year methanol unit shut if market prices failed to improve. The unit, located at Puyang in Henan province, had been shut for five months after an unscheduled plant outage in end-August 2008. The company originally planned to restart the plant by end-October but this was delayed due to unprofitable market pricing.
