China's CNOOC to build Shanxi fertilizer plants in April

China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) will start building a 1m tonne/year urea plant and a 600,000 tonne/year synthetic ammonia unit in April 2010 in Shanxi province.
SDRC recently granted approvals for the two-phased construction of the fertilizer plants.
CNOOC would build a 520,000 tonne/year urea plant and a 300,000 tonne/year synthetic ammonia plant in the first phase, which should be completed in 2012.In the second phase of the project, a 480,000 tonne/year urea plant and a 300,000 tonne/year synthetic ammonia plant would be built.The final completion date for the second phase has not been set.
